Magazines: Targeting Audiences through Demographics + Psychographics + Genre Theory

Here are my notes from a lesson about how media companies target audiences I worked as part of a group but participated in the discussion (sorry that the notes are so messy)

Reflection
From this research, my understanding towards how audiences are targeted with the genre has been improved. I learnt that different genres have different select groups of audiences that are interested in the content in the genre. Therefore, producers have to carefully identify the psychographics and demographics of the audiences that would be interested in their magazine. I and my group analysed certain cover lines and images that would align with those groups of audiences. From this research, I learned that I need to correctly identify my target audiences first before creating the content for my magazine. With this knowledge, I researched the different demographics and psychographics my genre, of travel would attract and I could then think of images and content that would suit these groups of audiences.
